My Summer Holiday- France

Bonjour, Octavia here, it is the first day of September which means school will be starting soon which means I need to share my holiday pictures while it is still the holiday. This is my second attempt at this post as last time I tried to do it my laptop died on me before I managed to post it –whoops- but I'm here now and hopefully I will finish writing before this laptop also dies on me.

This summer I was extremely lucky and went to both France and Italy, but in total there where over 500 pictures so I have decided to half my pictures and first post the pictures just from Italy then later post the pictures from Italy, hopefully not too later though, so without further ado here are the photos of my holiday in France, enjoyyyyyyyyyy.

Finally the super cool outdoor sledge run that we went on

I really hope that you enjoyed those photos and that they show my trip well. When I was writing the first half of this post I realised that I have now had this blog for over a year, which seems like a long time. I made this blog as a way to express my thoughts and just have something to do at the weekend and I never expected to get a huge audience as what I write is far from brilliant and there are far better bloggers out there, but I still enjoy it and I don’t care if no one reads these posts because when writing you should always write for yourself first then the audience, because what’s the point in writing if what your writing makes you unhappy or you don’t believe in what your writing. So if you’re on the fence ab out writing a blog, jump of the fence and start writing a blog you have nothing to lose, it gives you something to look forward to doing and helps de clutter your brain from all those random thoughts that you may have. Writing this blog was one of the best decisions I made last year, and I made a lot of decisions, so give it a go if it doesn’t work out, oh well, if it does then I hope you have as much fun as I blogging.
So after that rambling post, I wish you lots of luck in your hopes and dreams, and I will see you very soon, xxxxxx.

Peach and Vanilla cupcakes.

Hello my lovely people, long time no see, and it is mainly my fault a little bit of the fault does go to my sleep as my sleep has been very disturbed recently and I have no idea why, if it’s anything to go on I am writing this at one in the morning listening to “Don’t stop belivin’”, what has my life come to. Anyway, how are you all? I am now on holiday which is very exciting; I am going to France and Italy so brace yourselves for A LOT of pictures.

Now onto the main topic of the post, which is obviously peach cupcakes, I made these a while ago but my Mother stole my camera and never gave it back so I temporarily lost the pictures but all is good now (except for the fact that I  have now lost the camera, but oh well). Yes so here is a little recipe that you can make just in time for summer and holiday’s.

You will need:
             3 eggs
The weight of the eggs in:
   Golden caster sugar
   Self-raising flour
   Unsalted butter
                1 Tsp. vanilla extract
4 flat peaches, you can use normal but only use 2 or 3 depending on the size

Before doing any baking I like to collect all of my ingredients and lay them out but this is optional, however what is not optional is that you need to preheat the oven to 180◦C and put 12 cupcake cases in a tray. NOT MUFFIN CASES, there is not enough mixture for big muffin cases and also the recipe works out better with cupcake cases as they are lighter and smaller.

First combine the butter and sugar in the bowl until smooth and creamy, this is easier if you use butter at room temperature.

Next add the eggs one at a time, at this point add a few tablespoons of the flour as it prevent the mixture from curdling (going lumpy), something which I did not do and as you can see did affect my cake mixture luckily not my actual cakes, so it won’t be the end of the world if your cake mixture curdles but it is better if it doesn’t. After mixing in the eggs your mixture may seem slightly runny or curdly but don’t worry I’m yet to find a person who can’t make a cake, yet.

Before adding the peaches you want to cut them up, and I'm going to be honest with you and say that there is no easy way to do this but to just get in there and tackle the peaches. There probably is an easier way but I just don't know of it.

Once you have cut the peaches add them and the vanilla extract to the bowl, don’t over mix the peaches or they will just incorporate into the mixture and you won’t be able to taste them.
At this point I released that i should take the photos from above
Now sift (I know sifting is so, so annoying but it makes the cakes so much lighter) in the flour, then carefully fold in the flour to the mixture, preferably using a metal spoon.

Finally put them in the oven for 10-15mins or until golden brown and not squidgy to touch. Once cooked leave them to chill for half an hour and eat them, or ice them using whatever kind of icing you like, I used vanilla butter cream and used a piping bag but you can decorate them however you want to decorate them.

I really hope you try out my recipe and enjoy it because I really enjoyed baking the cakes and eating them. I also hope that wherever you are in the world (except Australia) that you are making the most of the summer sun, get out there and enjoy yourself even if it is raining, just have fun, enjoy life and notice all the little things.

Half a Post

Bonjour, Octavia has returned from the dead, well I was never dead, just my laptop was dead but we are quite similar me and my laptop. As a result of my laptop dying I lost all of the photos that I was editing I had spent about 3 hours editing only half of them and now I will never be able to share them with you, so I at the moment I am going to share the originals but I will update this post when I either get my laptop back or I finish editing the photos, which ever one is quicker. For now though enjoy browsing.

I really hope you liked those photos personally I am not sure of them but they will do, I promise you I will update them soon. Anyway I am now off for a nice long run (my friend gets annoyed when I call my runs nice, she makes me laugh). Hope you enjoy your weekend, or whatever it is for you when you read this.
Love you all lots and lots

Octavia xxx (I forgot how to spell my name for a second there, whoops)

Molly says hi

Today was a Thursday, and I'm hella tired. I stayed up all night on Saturday and I've been catching up on sleep since.  I would like to say that staying up talking till half 5 when you actually have to get up the next morning is a bad idea. It was my friend's birthday and she had me and three of my other friends over. We watched Mean Girls (because what else do you do at sleepovers) and I was kicking off an air bed by my starfish friends. So yeh, I slept on the floor.

So this week, my friend announced that she was leaving our high school, to go to a private school - after the summer. Me and my friends have a little quartet thing going on - it works really well. We balance out - one of my friends is really sporty, one is very smart and organised, one is funny and has like, amazing taste. I guess I'm the slightly weird, arty, emotional one with no coordination or organisational skills. But back to the subject.

Well, one of them just announced she's leaving. We were just sitting in the cafeteria - I had a cookie and a hot chocolate, I remember. Then she just came out with it, grinning like a mad thing. The other two got very excited and started shrieking about opportunities and facilities. I kinda just started crying.

I am happy for her, but I'll miss her, so much. The school she's moving to is in the city, a bus and a train and a walk away. They have different holidays, longer hours and they work Friday afternoons, unlike my school. To top it off, my other friends have just joined a much more serious basketball team (they are majorly into basketball and so so good at it) that means they are busy Fridays too, plus Mondays (meaning I will walk home alone Mondays and Fridays) and a lot of Saturdays, for games. Also, let's clarify that I don't have too many really close friends at my school. Don't get me wrong, I have friends, but not really the kind of friends I can really call up and be like, hey, wanna meet up?

Ugh, just read this again - I sound really pathetic and waily. Oh well. I'm gonna go now, because I'm hungry, and I think I can smell food. Plus, my phone is hungry too, it's on 20% battery. Oops, 10% now.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't want things to change. When I was talking to my friend (not the one who's leaving) kinda freaking out and being upset about all this (see above) she just gave me a scarily wise look, and simply told me that people leave.

Guys, be like my friend, and accept that people leave. She has the right outlook on life.

On spiders

WHAT'S UP DUDEEEE
Hey it's Molly (as you have probably guessed heheh) and today I am writing this on my phone... Exciting stuff.

Anyway, yesterday I got my hair cut. I've had blue dip dye since Christmas, and I finally got that removed. This leaves my hair kinda short, see Exhibit A.
So there you go. I posted pictures of it on my snapchat and then I kept getting messages like, "WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOUR HAIRRRRRRR OMGGGG".

Other stuff in my life right now is that I have a maths test on Thursday, and it's an assessment of like EVERYTHING we've done in the past two years 😓 and every time I start revising MY BRAIN FREEZES and haha, Tavi's gonna tell me off for overusing capital letters but oh welllllllllllll

So what are all you people doing this lovely Sunday? Today I am going shopping with some people (besties4lyf) and I have a lot of money and it will be fun. Just finished a phone call from one of my friends who wants to know the train times (she likes to be organised) and any "backup trains" we can get if there's an "emergency".  My friends are funny.

To be even more random, I am now going to discuss the topic of WHEN YOUR HOUSE IS FULL OF SPIDERS.
So yesterday, there was this seven-legged spider on my stairs, and it wasn't that big but the thing that freaked me out about it was it had a really fat body. Not even kidding - this one had a booty bigger than Nicky Minaj (proportionally). And so when me and DA BRO had a hissy fit, my dad came and picked it up in his bare hands and chucked it out the window, onto the high street. And then this morning I found the EXACT SAME ONE IN MY BEDROOM. BOOM. LIKE, HOW DID IT EVEN GET THERE. MY BEDROOM IS THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HOUSE FROM THE STREET WE CHUCKED IT ONTO.
And I'm sitting staring at it right now.

Normally I'd just put it in a glass but *cowers in the corner* this one knows me, and I bet it's looking for revenge.

Seriously tho, 😰😰😰😰😰. This is why I'm scared to touch the floor.

So bye. Have pity for me, trapped with an insect.
