BLOGMAS: DAY 12 - AMAZINGNESS

(SORRY BLOGGER WAS BEING AWKWARD AND DELETED THIS SO IT HAS BEEN RE-PUBLISHED)

Hello again, it is in fact Molly today. Today I am here to talk about the amazingness that is this- the Google Santa tracker. I've literally only discovered this about half an hour ago and I am in love.

It is an interactive, animated, virtual advent calendar. Every day, something new opens up. You can play games (many many games) including a world map game (where you place all the countries on the map) a couple of present shooting games (when you have to aim presents into chimneys, onto boats, etc.) and some racing games (self explanatory). You can watch videos, and do other activities (such as creating your own elf rock band, or dressing ordinary people at the airport in elf gear).

Honestly, if you have not checked it out yet then you MUST. Quite the best.

More Blogmasses later on, that's me for today. Byeee byeeee byeeeeeeeeeee

BLOGMAS: DAY 16 - SNOW

Hi, Molly again. Today I have no idea what to write about, and as Tavi is not picking up (I've already called twice) I'm just gonna write a little random thing about snow.

So, even though I live in Scotland, as my town is in the south-east, it is not very snowy in the winter. Or at least, it snows, but doesn't stick, and even if it does, there is NO CHANCE of getting snowed in as I happen to live right in the middle of my town (EDIT FROM OCTAVIA- you also live in a flat so getting snowed in is going to be pretty hard (just saying ;))), in the busiest part. So, the snow that does occasionally fall (more like slightly frozen slush) has no chance of sticking.

I've spent most of my Christmasses praying for snow, which hardly ever comes. A couple of years ago, it snowed, so much school was cancelled for like three weeks. That was the year when Scotland "got Canada's snow" (I really don't know), and the only White Christmas I've ever had.

No idea. So random. Proper post on Thursday.

BLOGMAS DAY 15: SINCERE

So today is not very Christmassy at all but my Mum brought a topic to my attention as I was taking pictures for blogmas day 13, and want to discuss this with you as  feel like it a matter that needs addressing.

For this post I was planning on doing “Christmas day outfits” and as I was just doing the second outfit my Dad said “Octavia I don’t mind you taking these photos, but I am not comfortable with you putting them on your blog as you look 16”. Now I understand where he is coming from but it just upset me so I went to my room and sulked (typical 13 year old), and my Mum came in and explained to me what my Dad meant.

What he was trying to say was (as my Mum explained it) that there are boys out there who can find blogs like mine and find you very attractive so “stalk” you, maybe try to message you, find out more about you until you may be left in a position where you feel emotionally uncomfortable.
Heard all this at school, or from your parents? They wouldn’t be looking after you if they didn’t tell you this. However I want to take a different view at this because everybody only ever takes on view and that view is your safety, and despite the fact that obviously I think safety is important, there are much more important undiscussed issues to have a little chat about so sit back and enjoy my little ramble.

As my first point I feel very strongly that it is wrong that I should be a target for this because I think that men in general do not get as much of this as woman, and the fact that my parents had to tell me this makes me feel like it is just me and also the fact that my dad just said what he said without any evidence makes me feel like it is the men that are more awkward about his kind of topic, even though it happens to both men and woman men are less willing to share this because of peer pressure and social media in the first place and so even though woman are pressured into not being able to share just whatever they like men aren’t judge on what they share but if something happens then they won’t share it they will just conceal it below them.

Another thing I want to talk about is the fact that women are pressured into doing this because of social media. Stupid social media that is the biggest bully out there, I mean these parents are telling their children to be careful what they post but how can they when 75% of the internet is made up of porn and boys willingly chat about everything, from that Snapchat they got yesterday of a girl topless, to how hot a girl is, and this makes young girls feel pressured to please a boy to make him happy to do what everyone else is doing. BUT THIS IS NOT OK IN ANYWAY SHAPE OR FORM. Girls are not objects to get thrown around the internet without even a name. Girls are people, WE ARE ALL PEOPLE AND WE ALL DESEVRE TO BE EQUAL.

You will see I have used the word pressured a lot and this is because that what it is pressure, we are all under so much pressure to do stuff we don’t want to do.

Sorry for the more sincere post but it was needed to be discussed.

Thank you

Octavia x

BLOGMAS: DAY 14 - CHRISTMAS CARDS

Molly is here again lalala. Today's post is on Christmas cards. In my family we make the best Christmas cards, and here are three designs we have used in the past. You can do them on plain white card or coloured card, they look cool both ways. Enjoy!!

Design No. 1: Six pointed star

For this one all you need is six different wrapping papers and some glue.
You start with cutting out six diamonds. You can lay them out in any order you want. Glue them down in the centre of the card with one corner pointing in, as above. Then just leave them to dry! You could also do alternating colours, like green and red, or you could glitter them up. These look really cool, and are pretty simple to make.

Design No. 2: Stencil tree

These ones are a bit different. For this one, you need to cut out a tree stencil - a rectangle with a tree shape cut out in the middle. For this one, you just need different colours of paint, a paintbrush, maybe glitter?
Start by laying the stencil on your card, and paint across. You can paint in stripes, stars, or whatever you want. Then you can sprinkle on glitter or put on beads as baubles.

Design No. 3: Sticker tree

These are my favourites, but also the most complicated. For each card you will need a tree shape, a box to go around the tree and some stickers. The stickers are just the type you can buy at stationary shops, the ones you put on calendars to remember dates. You can also get some yellow or gold star stickers, for the top of the tree. Oh, and you will also need glue.
Begin by sticking down your tree and rectangle. Then, quite simply, go mad with stickers. Put a star at the top and little dots down the sides. you could also line them up to make lights or tinsel.

Well, hope you enjoyed. See you laterrrrrr xx Molly

BLOGMAS: DAY 11 - OCTAVIA'S CHRISTMAS LIST

Hello my lovie bunch of gingerbread, I'm having a dilemma in that everyone is busy this weekend and I have got no Christmas present. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO? Any way on another note of annoyance I have not had access to the computer until now and it is now 22:10, great so just a very very effortless post today and that is what I want for Christmas, so I hope you enjoy this little filler post xxxxxx

1. A really nice camera, the one I have at the moment is ok but I would love to get a really good camera, possibly a film camera, suggestions please xxxx

2. Some music I don't care what, well I do, but I would just like to be able to listen to good music when ever in top quality.

3. Chocolate, I love chocolate so much, don't care what but I do love cadubrys.

4. A Jacks Wills gilet, won't be getting this because firstly I already have far to much stuff from Jack Wills and secondly it is way to expensive for a gilet,

5. To be happy who I am and accept the person that I am without trying to be someone else.

Very short, very effortless but may I just say very calmly that it is TWO FRICKIN WEEKS TILL CHRISTMAS. Hope you all had a fab day.

lots and lots of love

BLOGMAS: DAY 10 - CHRISTMAS LINKS

HELLOOOOOOOOOO, Molly here. Sorry about not finishing the post a couple of days ago, here is a new one. It's the post I was planning to do before I had to stop. Here are my top five Christmas links (all from Buzzfeed) and here they are:

5...   The cookie rankings according to SantaThis is just funny, and I somehow doubt I'd turn any of these down. Especially the macaroons.

4...  Kittens getting excited for ChristmasCats were quite possibly created to be the companions of the gods; they are quite clearly the most gorgeous of all the animals. (Sigh).

3 ...  Christmassy DIYsSome of these are really nice ideas and are worth a try. I'm definitely going to test these out sometime.

2 ...  ADORABLE Christmas decorationsAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

1 ...  and the Number One... Cats who are not getting excited for ChristmasYes, more cats. I'm tres, tres, pardonne (my grammar is probably the most awful thing evarrrrr) but I can't help myself.
Bah, Humbug.

Love ya all lot's and lot's
